Please tell me how I can remove the Continue Reading and the Read More button completely from the site?

please check theme options -> blog then you will find the text , just simply update and save ..

This just gives you the option to change the title/text of the button it will not remove it nor does deleting the text on continue reading this button still shows up in the theme.
